Promoted and developed by the international association BJCEM and co-funded by the European Union, DE.a.RE (DEconstruct and REbuild) is a three-year long research project supported by the Creative Europe Program with the objective of enhancing the competencies of artists, fostering the visibility, and circulation of emerging talents and artworks in Europe and beyond and reflecting on the role of artists as vectors of change in contemporary societies.
Uncivilised Paradigms is the first action of this project. It is a free online course open to 50 participants (under 35) that embarks from socially engaged practices, New Genre Public Art, critical pedagogy, and activism, in dialogue with contemporary artistic practices. Through a series of seminars, working group sessions, and master classes, the program explores artistic practices, proposals, and research from the Euro-Mediterranean region that can lend themselves as tools to learn from.
Among the 50 selected participants, five will receive a grant of 500 EUR for their participation and they will be invited to an international conference to be held in Turin. The conference will address topics explored throughout the course. It is scheduled to take place between November and December 2022 (the date will be announced soon). Transportation and accommodation will be covered by BJCEM.
