Copenhagen Contemporary, one of Scandinavia’s biggest and most prominent spaces for new art, is a vibrant gathering place for people from all walks of life.Focusing on today’s art and the world around it, Copenhagen Contemporary strives to be a learning organization that explores new ways of being an art institution by developing and communicating artistic and curatorial innovations. Promoting experiences, conversations and understanding through exhibitions, interdisciplinary activities and more, Copenhagen Contemporary is a vital interpreter of today’s world and its artistic forms.

Denmark’s international art center, Copenhagen Contemporary shows installation art by global stars and emerging artists alike. With 7,000 square meters of bright industrial space, located in the vast former welding hall of the B&W shipyard, Copenhagen Contemporary amply accommodates the technically demanding formats and massive scales employed by many artists today. From sprawling, immersive installations toperformance art and monumental video works, this is art you can walk through and experience with your whole body.

Copenhagen Contemporary fosters collaboration and organizes events with a variety of partners across the cultural and social spectrum, locally and internationally. Take part in art talks and art walks. Attend concerts, creative workshops and classes forkids. Browse the museum store showcasing top Scandinavian design and explore theunique historical district of Refshaleøen on Copenhagen’s waterfront.
