Through its operational projects, in its networks and in conjunction with cooperation partners, Körber-Stiftung takes on current social challenges in areas of activities comprising Innovation, International Dialogue and Vibrant Civil Society. Inaugurated in 1959 by the entrepreneur and initiator Kurt A. Körber, the foundation is now nationally and internationally active from its sites in Hamburg and Berlin.

The focus topic New Life in Exile, demonstrates Körber-Stiftungs’s commitment to people living in exile in Germany who reflect on their experiences of war and dosplacement, the loss of their country and their arrival in a foreign culture. Körber-Stiftung publicises the journalistix, artistic, scientific and political activities undertaken by these individuals and provides them with a voice in societal debates, thus, strengthening social cohesion.
