Bergen Kunsthall is a centre for contemporary art and presents a programme of exhibitions, events and learning activities with some of the most influential artists of today. We support artists through the production of new work, together with a broad network of partners in Bergen and internationally. The programme has a global, multidisciplinary, and diverse approach and examines the questions that shape and inspire us as individuals and as a society. As one of the most important contemporary art centres in the Nordic countries, Bergen Kunsthall has a distinct voice in its communities and is an active part of the international discourse. Landmark is our vibrant strand of live events that includes concerts, talks, performances and club nights. We organise a broad range of learning activities and debates that are open to everyone and engages directly with our audience.

Bergen Kunsthall was initially founded as Bergen Kunstforening in 1838 and is now based in an early functionalist building designed by the architect Ole Landmark for Bergen Kunstforening in 1935 with gallery spaces, a café, live venue and a bookshop.

Bergen Kunsthall is supported by the Norwegian Ministry of Culture, the City of Bergen and Vestland County.
