The Common Guild is a visual arts organisation based in Glasgow. It was established in 2006 and presents a dynamic, international programme of contemporary visual art projects, exhibitions, and events, including a range of talks and collaborations. The Common Guild are committed to presenting artists’ work in interesting and engaging ways and aim to offer access to world-class contemporary art experiences and discussions.

Our programme has included the commissioning of major non-gallery, one-off projects by Ruth Ewan, Janice Kerbel, Phil Collins and Simon Starling, all presented in a range of sites and locations. In 2013, The Common Guild curated Scotland + Venice, representing Scotland for the 55th Venice Biennale, with artists Corin Sworn, Duncan Campbell and Hayley Tompkins.

Between 2008 and 2018, The Common Guild’s exhibitions programme at 21 Woodlands Terrace included solo shows by some of the leading artists of our time, including Shaon Hayes, Roni Horn, Tacita Dean, Wolfgang Tillmans, Carol Bove, Roman Ondák and Akram Zaatari.
