Felix Gonzalez-Torres Read Bio Collapse
Cuban-born Felix Gonzalez-Torres (1957–96) was one of the most important artists of the last decades of the twentieth century. His works added a poetic, personal tone to the legacy of Minimalism, and represented his ongoing engagement with social and political issues, including those related to his own sexuality. In doing so, González-Torres radically diluted, in artistic terms, the borders between private and public life.
