Jesse McLean is an artist interested in systems that simultaneously comprise us and contain us. Motivated by a deep curiosity regarding human behavior and a firm belief that there is always more to the story, she has spent her career investigating what it means to be human in relation to what is not. A primary focus of her work contrasts the finite capacities of the nonhuman with infinite human desires.
