River of Light 2017
Following its first manifestation in 2016, River of Light 2017 will once again bring focus on children’s rights with a procession of lanterns in the city of Gothenburg. The lanterns are created together in a series of open workshops that have involved asylum seeking families, unaccompanied minors, artists and community members. The procession will be held on February 20 to mark the UN World Day of Social Justice. The project is also supported by B-Arts Staffordshire, A-venue and Göteborgs Stad.

The Theatre of Mistakes at Raven Row Gallery
Curated by Jason E. Bowman as part of the Stretched research project.

Stretched, is an ongoing research project at Valand Academy, co-researched by Jason E. Bowman, Julie Crawshaw and Mick Wilson, and supported by the Swedish Research Council. This initiative interrogates the exhibitionary potential of micro-cultures within formations of artists-organisation. Bowman will curate the first ever survey of the work of the disbanded, inter-disciplinary performance collective, The Theatre of Mistakes (1974–81) for London’s prestigious Raven Row Gallery, London. Inclusive of artworks, notation, manifestos and ephemera that demonstrate the collective’s inner working processes, the exhibition will importantly also bring back into the public sphere their unique workshops and selected live performances for the first time in decades. (June 29–August 8, Friday to Sunday weekly.)
