École européenne supérieure d’art de Bretagne (EESAB) higher arts school is a state institution for cultural cooperation (EPCC), created by the French State, Brittany regional council, Brest city council, Lorient city council, Quimper district council and Rennes city council. With a total of 820 students and 1,900 pupils on four sites, it employs 185 permanent members of staff and has a budget of approximately 10m EUR. The school is accredited to award masters-level diplomas in Art, Design and Communication. It provides public classes and is also a forum for research, exhibitions, creativity, publishing and experimentation.
Responsibilities
– In consultation with the four campus directors, developing the coherence of curricula and courses available at the school
– Coordinating and developing research and international cooperation projects
– Developing collaboration with university laboratories and institutions in France, Europe and further afield
– Developing schemes for assisting students with professional insertion and a lifelong training programme
– Consolidating the school’s governance
– Equipping the four-campus school with its own communication and information system
– General management of all departments, setting income and expenditure budgets
Profile
– Experienced individual with a background in contemporary design and/or arts higher education
– Experience in international projects and complete proficiency in English
– Outstanding ability to coordinate teams and complex projects
– Skills in HR management and finance
– The ability to make a multi-site school function as a network
Job description
– Frequent travel to the Brest, Lorient, Quimper and Rennes campuses
– Five-year term, renewable for three-year periods
– Full-time
– Employment status: senior management, local civil service
– Tenured or contract position
