The FHNW Academy of Art and Design in their new premises at the Campus of the Arts in Basel and ELIA European League of Institutes of the Arts, are delighted to invite professionals from all over Europe to the Economies of Aesthetics Conference.
Economies of Aesthetics will create a platform for informed discussions between experts coming from higher arts education, economy, social sciences and contemporary aesthetic practices and a vibrant place for discourse and critical reflection addressing socially relevant fields in art, design, media and science.
Economies of Aesthetics will provoke new ways of thinking and observing the actual cultural, societal, political and economical processes, and provides a space for thinking in potentialities through a multidisciplinary view: “The Possible” focuses on catalyzing urban change, “The Profitable” conducts an analysis of a reconsidered economic value system, “The Sensible” explores an antifragile society, “The Desirable” discusses architectures of meaning. Additional to the sessions addressing these overall themes, the present discourse will be reflected through presentations from the expert fields of research, impact, cultural entrepreneurship and sources & resources.
Economies of Aesthetics addresses everyone interested and open for exchange and reversing discussions—from arts, design and university lecturers, to urban developers, sociologists, economists, or protagonists of cultural institutions.
