Paris: Urban Landscape through a Cultural Lens
June 14–July 12
Andrew Hartness
Through a series of uncommon site visits, e.g., behind the scenes at the Louvre and beneath the city in la gare de Montrouge, access to cultural locales and experiences, visits to design studios and guest lectures, you’ll learn to assume the role of patron, citizen and critic, a privilege usually reserved for Parisians. The course offers the exposure and dialogue typical of an urban systems class, but also requires that observation, research and conjecture be channeled through a design project, presented at a final review.
