Sotheby’s Institute of Art, a pioneer in art law education, in collaboration with Claremont Graduate University, the Getty Leadership Institute, and California Lawyers for the Arts is holding an intensive three-day course, coupled with a two-day conference, on the practice of law in the international art world. Both the course and the conference are designed primarily for practicing attorneys but open to art world professionals and enthusiasts who wish to enhance their understanding of the regulatory and legal context of art and its markets.

The course and conference can be attended separately or together at a special combined rate, and both programs are approved for California Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) credit. Credit for other jurisdictions will be sought as necessary based on program participants.

Art Law Conference

This conference gathers together top attorneys and professionals to engage and debate the way that the law is actually encountered and practiced in the international art world. Sessions include “Liability v. Leadership: Advising Arts Organizations,” and “Art in the Age of Social Media: Right of Publicity and Copyright.” To view the schedule, click here.
