Master programmes in Visual and Audiovisual Arts
LUCA School of Arts offers a Master in Audiovisual Arts in Brussels and a Master in Visual Arts in Brussels and Ghent.

A Master’s program is a one-year, full-time academic course oriented at bringing students to an advanced level of knowledge and skills, necessary for the autonomous exercise of the arts or sciences, or for the application of scientific or artistic knowledge in the independent practice of a profession. For some students, the Master’s degree might be a step towards post-academic degrees or a PhD.

In Brussels, Master students specialise as artists and designers in Animation Film, Film, Photography, Information Design, Comic Design, Social Design or Fine Art. In Ghent, Master students specialise as artists and designers in Graphic Design, Textile Design or Fine Art.

DOC NOMADS European Master Course is a two-year-long documentary filmmaking program course taught in English and delivered by three European institutions: LUCA School of Arts, Campus Sint-Lukas Brussels; Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias (Lisbon); and the consortium leader, the University of Theatre and Film Arts (Budapest).

DOC NOMADS aims at developing students’ basic skills in techniques, fieldwork, and writing, as well as their creative filmmaking and managing skills in an international production environment within the framework of a truly integrated training. This is the only film program supported by the Erasmus Mundus program of the European Commission. Prospective students have to go through an admission process and may apply for scholarships to cover travel costs and other expenses.
