Umeå School of Architecture
In September 2009, Umeå School of Architecture (UMA) was established. We are located in the newly built Arts Campus. The school is gradually developing into a laboratory of experimental architecture, with emphasis on artistic development work, where both education and research are conducted. At the present time, UMA consists of a faculty of about 30 teachers and researchers, 250 architect students at the Bachelor or Master levels, and a handful of PhD students. More information can be found at arch.umu.se.

The architecture school is, together with the Umeå Institute of Design, the Umeå Academy of Fine Arts, HUMLab X, and Bildmuseet—the university museum of contemporary art—beautifully located at the newly built Arts Campus of Umeå University, a unique meeting place for the arts, the humanities, culture and technology in close proximity to the city center. The campus is an international hotspot for education and research where students from different fields meet and cooperate.
