Applications for artists participating in the main project of the Biennale are accepted through March 10, 2014.

Applications for curators for strategic projects, funded by the organizers, are accepted through February 28, 2014.

Applications for institutions, for inclusion in the parallel program, are accepted through February 28, 2014.

Institutions are invited to collaborate and young artists and curators are invited to participate.

The Moscow International Biennale for Young Art takes place biannually in Moscow during the Summer and represents a review of works (individual and collective) by Russian and foreign artists and curators of the new generation (age up to and including 35), working in the field of contemporary art using new techniques, practices, and technology.

One of the main tasks of the Biennale is to discover new young artists. The project presents an opportunity for the young artists and curators to create connections and set up creative partnerships within the professional art scene.

Curatorial projects of the strategic program of the Biennale take place at the exhibition spaces provided by its organizers: the National Centre for Contemporary Arts (NCCA) and the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA).

Various individual projects are selected from the list of applications to comprise the main project of the Biennale. The main project follows the Biennale theme.

The title of the IV Moscow International Biennale for Young Art is “A Time for Dreams”, inspired by the famous “I Have A Dream” speech by Martin Luther King. With this title the curator emphasizes the chronic instability of our time and the acute need for the young generation to have dreams, hopes and opportunities, to not blindly go with the flow but to invest their strength into the perfection of the world.

Applications for participation in the Biennale will only be accepted through the official website of the Biennale by filling out an electronic form.

The application process is free. Authors and curators will not receive compensation. All copyright remains the author’s. The organizers of the Biennale may in some cases provide financial support to assist with the project, but such funding is not guaranteed.
