November 2–16
Reception: Friday, November 1, 7–9pm
Sullivan Galleries
33 S. State Street, 7th floor
Chicago
More than 90 emerging artists and designers completing undergraduate degrees this fall exhibit their thesis work at SAIC’s Sullivan Galleries. From cutting-edge art and technology and graphic design to innovations in painting, sculpture, film, video, new media, and animation—undergraduate SAIC students have cultivated research-based practices that inform their finished work.
Tiffany Holmes, Dean of Undergraduate Studies, says, “The fall undergraduate exhibition exemplifies SAIC’s dedication to traversing boundaries between disciplines. It is the culminating event for our artists, designers, and scholars who developed their practices by designing their own curricular pathways in order to investigate new configurations of ideas, processes, and materials.”
SAIC promotes crossing disciplines and challenging assumptions through a range of theory and skill-based coursework, and the results of this approach are showcased in this exhibition.
