NYU Abu Dhabi seeks to appoint an innovative and accomplished professor with expertise in the art, architecture, and visual culture of the Islamic world, any sub-specialization or period. This is an open-rank search for a tenure-track or contract appointment in Art History.
We are looking for a scholar who will maintain an active agenda of research, have publications appropriate to their rank, and have a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching. The terms of employment are competitive and include housing and educational subsidies for children. Members of NYU Abu Dhabi standing faculty receive generous support for research and travel. The teaching load is three undergraduate courses per year (semester system), including at least one in the core curriculum. Faculty may also spend time at NYU New York and other sites of the global network, engaging in both research and teaching opportunities. The appointment will begin as soon as September 1, 2014, with a later start date possible, pending candidate availability.
