Presented by the National Institute for Experimental Arts (NIEA) and ISEA2013, Running the City is an experimental, interactive exhibition in which artists deploy a range of electronic media and tactics to both map and move throughout the city. Connecting with the ISEA2013 theme—Resistance is Futile—Running the City explores how boundaries and points of resistance can be circumvented, reconfiguring the operations of the urban environment in ways that are variously liberating and disturbing. The exhibition combines laboratories and workshops with video and interactive projects that address the psycho-physical dynamics of our inhabitation and utilisation of city spaces.

Artists include:
Richard Goodwin
Volker Kuchelmeister
Laurent Gutierrez + Valerie Portefaix (MAP Office)
Brad Miller and Ian McArthur
Marnix de Nijs
Jun Nguyen-Hatsushiba
