UTS School of Design is engaged in teaching and research situated within a wider domain of cultural production.
The School has approx. 1200 students in the areas of Fashion and Textiles, Visual Communication, Industrial Design, Animation, Interior and Spatial Design and Photography and Situated Media with excellent production facilities to support these disciplines.
We are seeking an Associate Professor/Professor in Spatial Design who has a highly developed ability to motivate and inspire students combined with a strong creative practice and an established research profile and is willing to contribute to the development of a culture that values critical thinking, creative practice and practice-led teaching.
We are also seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Photography who is able to contribute to a photographic culture within the School of Design. She/he will have a successful photographic research output that may encompass a developed or developing exhibiting and/or publishing track record.
Drawing on a strong theoretical basis and creative practice, these positions requires a willingness to collaborate in the dynamic dialogue between theory and practice that forms the basis of the studio based teaching in the School. The new faculty members will teach in the undergraduate program and supervise higher degree research students, whilst maintaining an active practice and relevant research profile.
The successful candidate will have a significant record of research publications and practice and hold a PhD, MFA or equivalent research degree in this or a related field.
This role is available on a full-time permanent basis.
