The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) is pleased to announce the school’s 111th Annual Student Exhibition. The culmination of the School’s academic calendar, PAFA’s Annual Student Exhibition is a peerless and highly-anticipated event. Housed in the modern and contemporary galleries in PAFA’s Samuel M. V. Hamilton Building, the exhibition is the largest and longest-standing of its kind.

In 2012, the Annual Student Exhibition will feature works by 130 graduating BFA and MFA students, and 3rd and 4th year students in the School’s venerable Certificate program. Each year, more than 130,000 USD in prizes and scholarships are competitively awarded, including prestigious travel scholarships, exhibition nominations, and purchase prizes. In 2011 more than 11,000 visitors attended the Annual Student Exhibition and more than 300,000 USD of student artwork was sold.

The exhibition is an academic capstone and professional debut for PAFA’s students, who are given the opportunity to curate and install their own works. Each of PAFA’s exhibiting Certificate, BFA, and MFA students receives a personal workspace during the academic year. Working closely with faculty, visiting artists, and their peers, students develop a keen sense of their unique visual sensibilities. The Annual Student Exhibition is an unrivaled display of these results.
