This Fall, join us at the Barney Building in New York City’s East Village for open studios, information sessions, visiting artist lectures, and exhibitions. Our six-story Beaux Arts structure houses studios, galleries, and performance and lecture spaces, and is located at 34 Stuyvesant Street just east of Third Avenue at 9th Street.

 

Open Studio Events

 

Free and open to the public.

Open House
Saturday, November 19, 6–10pm
Studios, art installations, performances, screenings, functional art, and music, organized by students from the department’s M.F.A., B.F.A., and M.A. programs.

M.F.A. Open Studios
Sunday, November 20, 6-9pm
Spend time in our M.F.A. studios seeing work by first and second year students and visiting students from Paris/Sorbonne.

Information Sessions for Prospective Students

M.A. in Art Education Online Chat
Wednesday, October 19, 2–3pm
Learn more about the program and ask questions. Hosted by Program Director Dipti Desai.

B.F.A. in Studio Art: Open House
Sunday, October 23 at 1:15pm
Meet with faculty, admissions staff, current students, and financial aid representatives. Includes a campus tour and visit to four NYU freshmen residence halls.

Information Session for all Graduate Programs
Wednesday, October 26 at 6pm
M.A./M.F.A. programs in Studio Art, Visual Arts Administration, Art Therapy, Art Education, and Costume Studies. Meet with program directors and representatives from the NYU Steinhardt Graduate Admissions Office.

B.F.A. in Studio Art: Portfolio Review Day
Sunday, November 13

One-on-one portfolio review, an opportunity to meet current B.F.A. students and faculty, and a tour of Department facilities. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.

Information Session for Graduate Studio Art Programs
Sunday, November 20, 5–6pm
For prospective applicants to the M.F.A., Three-Summer M.A., and Advanced Certificate programs in Studio Art. No RSVP required. Attendees are encouraged to attend the M.F.A. Open Studios from 6–9pm.

M.A. in Art Education: Thursdays from 6-7pm on 11/10, 12/1, 12/15, 1/12, and 1/26.
M.A. in Visual Arts Administration: Thursdays from 6–7pm on 11/3, 11/17, 12/8, and 1/5.
M.F.A./M.A./Certificate in Studio Art: Thursdays from 3–4pm on 10/20, 11/17, and 12/15.
