Passing Time, an exhibition of the recent work of seventeen international artists, known and emerging, in a range of media, explores the multiple and converging meanings of the phrase “passing time”—spending time, time to die. Some artists turn to sport, dance or music to explore concepts of time—short term, long term and terminating; others refer to nature and its rhythms or frankly partner with time itself in their making of art.

Because of the ubiquity of the content and its interdisciplinary potential, the exhibition is suitable for museums situated both on campuses and beyond.

Included in the exhibition are works by Rubén Ramos Balsa (Spain), Matthew Buckingham (United States), Luis Camnitzer (United States), Rineke Dijkstra (The Netherlands), Ken Fandell (United States), Shaun Gladwell (Australia), Felix Gonzalez-Torres (United States), Leandro Katz (Argentina), Idris Khan (United Kingdom), Eva Koch (Denmark), Katrin Korfmann (The Netherlands, Germany), Philipp Lachenmann (Germany), Oscar Muñoz (Colombia), Pak Sheung Chuen (China), Su-Mei Tse (Belgium, France), Siebren Versteeg (United States), and Bill Viola (United States).

The exhibition is organized by c2, a curatorial partnership between Ginger Gregg Duggan and Judith Hoos Fox.
