21st Century Sound Design: Music and Audio Production in the Digital Age
This innovative program will highlight the significant role of sound in our culture and explore how creatives can design and improve the sounds that surround our daily lives.
Illustration and Visual Storytelling: Art and Industry
This studio residency offers artists the opportunity to spend the summer in New York City, exploring the wealth of resources available to professional illustrators while developing a portfolio of work that embodies their personal vision.
Impact! Design for Social Change
This immersive program offers advanced students and working professionals a unique opportunity to study with faculty composed of leading designers and social entrepreneurs and will introduce participants to the growing field of design for social advocacy.
Painting and Mixed Media
This program offers artists an opportunity to work intensively in a private studio and receive support in their work with painting, drawing, small-scale installation and mixed media.
Photography
Resident artists have access to studio equipment and printing facilities, which include color darkrooms, digital imaging and output centers, a range of studio lighting systems, and a variety of camera sizes and formats.
Printmaking and Book Arts
The printshop allows for work in silkscreen, lithography, letterpress, etching, woodblock and digital output facilities.
Reconfiguring Site: New Approaches to Public Art and Architecture
Artists will develop proposals for sites, engaging a process that reflects all key aspects and intrinsic elements: scale, history, social meaning and formal aesthetic components. Collaborative initiatives within architecture and landscape architecture will be highlighted.
Sculpture, Installation and New Media Art
Intended for serious artists who work in sculpture and installation as well those engaging in digital video, digital sculpture, rapid prototyping, 3D graphics and other new media.
Still and Moving Imaging: New Technologies
Practical workshops will be augmented by seminars exploring the history, theory and conceptual issues that characterize the divergences in the production practices of the still and moving image.
Visiting artists, curators, administrators and critics have included Suzanne Anker, Marshall Arisman. Vince Aletti, Jan Avgikos, Ofri Cnaani, Gregory Coates, Heather Darcy-Bhandari, Meir Gal, Kate Gilmore, Michael Joaquin Grey, Milton Glaser, Jonathan Melber, Sheri Pasquarella, Anne Pasternak, David Ross, Jerry Saltz and Simon Watson.
Affordable housing is available, as are opportunities to exhibit work.
