The online Soundsuit store offers for sale everything from limited edition prints of Nick Cave Soundsuits to books, 3D cards, gift wrap, ironed-to-order T-shirts, magnets, and viewfinders.
About Nick Cave
Nick Cave is an interdisciplinary artist working between sculpture, installation, performance, video, designed objects, and fashion. His signature Soundsuits explore the use of textiles and clothing as conceptual modes of expression, posing fundamental questions about the human condition in the social and political realm. The New York Times described Cave’s Soundsuits as “Must Be Seen to Be Believed.” Varying in size, shape, and material—yarn, beads, sequins, sweaters, bottle caps, vintage toys, twigs, leaves, hair, etc.—the Soundsuits are vessels of transformation, seeking to connect people to the Earth and everything around them. Cave is represented by Jack Shainman Gallery in New York, and his work has been shown nationally and internationally. He has exhibited at Studio la Città in Verona, Italy (2010); Fowler Museum at UCLA in Los Angeles (2010); Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco (2009); and the Chicago Cultural Center (2006), among others.
