Visual norms and standards are part of our daily lives. We all believe we know them and can identify them. But their familiar appearance conceals considerable scientific, cultural, economic and political issues. They call our own relationship to technique into question. How are they created? What are the consequences of their use? At the heart of this empire of norms, the graphic design is the perfect illustration of the reign of programming tools. How should we use the graphic design, which produce norms even as itself being a norm? What does the future of publishing look like in the face of the digital trend which programs formats and media?
“EDIT!” is intended for a public of publishing, graphic design and media professionals, artists, students and decision-makers and actors at the regional, national and international levels.
