The Academy
NABA Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milano is an innovative Arts and Design Academy, legally recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR), and at the same time a dynamic artistic and cultural centre.
Founded in 1980 on the initiative of a private group of artists and intellectuals, it was the first Italian Academy who introduced the study of fashion and graphic design in the fine arts academic curricula, combining the academic educational tradition with the critical project culture, typical of Italian design.
Strongly oriented towards experimentation, NABA aims at integrating education, research and production and at fostering a cross-disciplinary, intercultural and socially responsible approach to education and artistic production.
Nowadays NABA educational offer includes Bachelor and Master of Arts programs, leading to the attainment of legally recognized degrees and to the achievement of educational credits, allowing students to continue their studies in Italian and foreign institutions, in the areas of Visual Arts, Graphic Design, Fashion and Textile Design, Design, Media and Theatre Design.
Studying at NABA means meeting professionals and artists coming from various professional environments, taking part in several extra-curricular activities and working with students from all over the world.
The multicultural environment of the Academy, with more than 20% of its 1050 students coming from abroad, is also strengthened by the wide network of international relations, involving more than 50 foreign academies and universities.
