The range of studies available at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna presently covers architecture, fine arts, stage design, education in the arts (art and design), conservation-restoration as well as doctoral programs for philosophy, technical sciences and natural sciences. The Academy of Fine Arts Vienna is currently home to about 1100 students, about 215 members of academic and art university staff and about 120 members of general university staff.
In order to be eligible as rector the candidate must have international experience in academic and/or artistic occupation or in the field of management in academic and/or art contexts as well as the necessary abilities to manage a university’s organisation, staff and finances with a high level of social competence and gender-policy awareness. The office term starts on 1 October 2007 and ends on 30 September 2011. It is possible to be elected for a second term.
