The School of Architecture and the Built Environment is one of ten schools at KTH. We employ about 700 people and we have about 3 000 students. We have a unique breadth of subject range where we educate and research on future society, about how cities, buildings and infrastructure should be designed and built. On how to create a good living environment for people while taking into account environmental, energy, economic and social factors. We are currently looking for an Associate Professor in Architectural Technology
The subject field seeks to evaluate and develop the relation between technology, architectural design, and architecture practice. The subject is oriented towards deepening existing understanding of digital tools and the importance of interdisciplinary methods for collaboration and manufacturing. Of particular importance for the subject field is the development of new teaching methods and theories for the education of new architects.

Duties
Applicants are expected to develop a strong pedagogical stance on the education of future architects in the area of Architectural Technology, and to establish research activities in the field of Architectural Technology and Pedagogy. The position provides an opportunity to develop and test new teaching models and thus to contribute to the growing field of international research on this subject. The employment involves participation in research as well as education in first- and second-cycle courses within the architecture programme, and supervision and participation in third-cycle courses within the doctoral programme in architecture. Besides teaching on a practical basis, this also includes examination and course coordination as well as pedagogical development. Duties within research include independently establishing new collaborations and research projects through applications and research funding, as well as managing and developing research within the subject field and in collaboration with other subject fields and sub-areas within architecture. The position may include faculty work and leadership assignments in relation to both research and the education. 

Eligibility requirements 
Qualified for appointment as an associate professor is a person who has been awarded a PhD or has the corresponding research competence or some other professional expertise that is of value in view of the subject matter of the post and the duties that it will involve, and have demonstrated teaching expertise.
