We are currently looking for an Associate Professor in Architecture with a focus on theory and method
The subject field encompasses studies and development of theory and method within research, design, and development within architecture. This includes a wide range of perspectives, such as those drawn from architectural technology, urban studies, history, theory, and critical studies in architecture. Further the subject involves multidisciplinary approaches including theories and methods from the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and from art and design.
Duties
The position demands participation in both research and education in first- and second-cycle courses within the architectural program, as well as supervision and participation in third cycle-courses within the doctoral program in architecture. The position also requires the development of practice-based research, and the construction of links between design and critical studies. Besides teaching on a practical basis, this also includes examination and course coordination as well as pedagogical development. Duties within research include independently establishing new collaborations and research projects through applications and research funding, as well as managing and developing research within the subject field and in collaboration with other subject fields and sub-areas within architecture. The position may include faculty work and leadership assignments in relation to both research and the education.
Eligibility requirements
Qualified for appointment as an associate professor is a person who has been awarded a PhD or has the corresponding research competence or some other professional expertise that is of value in view of the subject matter of the post and the duties that it will involve, and have demonstrated teaching expertise
