Inherent Design

This program will explore Indigenous architecture, and the knowledge inherent in traditional design methodologies and materials. It is open to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous participants.

In this Independent Residency, be surrounded by a community of artistic peers, attend inspiring talks and performances by world-renowned visiting artists, and enjoy a spectacular mountain environment where you can engage or seek retreat.
Photography Practicum

As part of the Photo Services team, Photography Practicum participants work and learn through exposure to a wide range of projects under the supervision and mentorship of Banff Centre staff, faculty, associated practicums, and artists.
Arts Writer in Residence 2018

This six-month residency will provide time, space, and access to resources for mid-career arts writers to further develop their curatorial and critical writing, conduct research, while engaging with artists-in-residence and programs in Visual + Digital Arts. The residency is suited to arts writers focused on the development of a substantial project resulting in an external publication, presentation, or exhibition with a strong critical arts writing component.
Curator in Residence 2018

This six-month residency will provide time, space, and access to resources for mid-career curators to develop an exhibition or project, conduct research, while engaging with artists-in-residence and programs in Visual + Digital Arts. The residency is suited to curators focused on the development of a substantial project resulting in an external public exhibition or curatorial event.
Visual + Digital Arts programs at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity offer opportunities for artists to engage with world-renowned faculty and peers to gain new insights into the development of their work. Access to facilities and expertise in photography, sculpture, printmaking, papermaking, ceramics, fibre, painting, digital media, video, and sound, as well as curatorial studies are available.
