The Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD) announces its fall 2017 public program, which begins next Thursday, August 31 with a talk by artist Luisa Lambri, in conversation with architect Mark Lee, co-artistic director of the 2017 Chicago Architecture Biennial. The Fall 2017 program continues the following Tuesday, September 5 with Tomas Koolhaas and the US premiere of his documentary, Rem.
On Thursday, September 14, the school will be presenting a symposium entitled “New Materialisms: Histories Make Practice | Practices Make History” as part of the Chicago Architecture Biennial.
Other events on the GSD’s fall 2017 schedule include:
A lecture by the GSD’s Rahul Mehrotra celebrating the opening of his GSD exhibition, Soft Thresholds, on Wednesday, September 6. The exhibition and lecture will survey the work of Mehrotra’s firm, RMA Architects, and the compulsive drive of the practice to construct soft thresholds—through research, engagement with the city, and making of architecture.
On Tuesday, September 12, Iwan Baan discusses his documentation of John Portman, in parallel to an exhibition of Baan’s work on view at the GSD this fall
