The ArtCenter Graduate Art MFA program is pleased to announce its spring 2018 guest teaching faculty, consisting of Diedrich Diederichsen, Chris Kraus, and Larry Johnson. They will be joined returning guest studio visitors Kelly Akashi, Jamillah James, and Shahryar Nashat.

ArtCenter’s Graduate MFA program is a two-year, 66-unit program emphasizing one-on-one studio visits with faculty and rigorous critical, academic and practical coursework. With a core faculty of ten internationally recognized artists and writers, eight adjunct faculty and 35 students, we have the highest faculty-to-student ratio of all comparable MFA programs. The result is an intense work environment where concentrated art-making is assured equally concentrated and careful attention, whether within specific disciplines or among them: in film, video, photography, painting, sculpture, installation, performance and everything in between.

Closer to home, indeed at home, is Los Angeles, one of the world’s great art capitals. Closer still is the world-class design school to which we are connected, with leading edge software and hardware technology and the equipment that goes with it. On site, we provide students with individual studios, a fabrication shop, several gallery spaces, and dedicated computing and moving image production labs. We make our public gallery spaces and project rooms available to all candidates, from the first term through the final term, when every graduating student mounts a final solo show.

Having recently celebrated its 30th year in existence, the Grad Art program is proud to have among its alumni artists such as Kathryn Andrews, Aaron Curry, Sharon Lockhart, Sterling Ruby, Frances Stark, Diana Thater, and Charlie White, to name just these few. For a full list of our faculty and alumni, please visit: www.artcentermfa.net.

The ArtCenter Graduate Art program is currently accepting applications for the fall 2018 semester (deadline: January 15, 2018). For more information, visit us online.
