The international conference "Drawing is Thinking – Thinking is Moving" investigates the role of the drawing in the genesis of images. From different angles various lecturers will zoom in on the relevance, range and meaning of the popular analogy between drawing and thinking. With special attention to the drawing as an intuitive movement, the diversity of drawing as a thought process, and the importance of drawing in artistic development, "Drawing is Thinking – Thinking is Moving" will propose a number of insights to the audience for further discussion.

Everyone is free to participate in the conference, but registration is required.

The conference is organized by Ronny Delrue and Bart Geerts (LUCA School of Arts) as part of the OPaK research project "Drawing is Thinking – Thinking is Moving," in collaboration with CIAP and SMAK. The conference is part of the programme of LUX, the LUCA Showcase 2017.
