The Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBR), Berlin, Germany, announces the following “art-in-architecture” competitions for the Humboldt Forum in the Berlin Palace:
Location of artworks:
–The auditorium foyer
–Wall of the first floor foyer (between the Berlin Exhibition and Humboldt Academy)

Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBR), Division A 2, Strasse des 17. Juni 112, 10623 Berlin, Germany, within the business division of the BMUB (German Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety).
Type of competition:
A joint closed and anonymous competition is to be held for the two locations, in both German and English, with an open application procedure prior to this. The authoritative language for the competition is German.
Brief for the competition and location of the artworks:
Within the context of the building works being carried out for the Humboldt Forum in the Berlin Palace, concepts for art-in-architecture are to be developed for the two locations named above.
Implementation costs for the auditorium foyer (incl. VAT): EUR 150,000
Implementation costs for the wall in the first floor foyer (incl. VAT): EUR 40,000
Eligibility for participation and procedure:
All professional artists and groups of artists worldwide are eligible for entry.
The selection committee will consider all applications and will then invite up to 20 participants for each location to take part in the competition.
