A potential GIZMO might be in the glowing suitcase in Pulp Fiction (1994) or is to be found in the small box in Belle de Jour (1967). Even Citizen Kane‘s Rosebud (1941) could be a GIZMO and Gizmo in Gremlins (1984) is GIZMO. This little word meaning thing or gadget is capable to fill a blank space with great significance and is always an object of desire. Nobody exactly knows what it means or stands for, but everybody is to be sure that it is of utmost importance.

Moritz Hirsch (born 1978) lives and works in Berlin.
