South African – born curator and designated Director of the Locust Projects in Florida, Claire Breukel, joins Galerie Ernst Hilger to curate an exhibition for their contemporary gallery in Vienna. The result – “Tour, A Splice Of Life- Cape Town To Miami” – is an exhibition that combines the works of the three Miami artists Frances Trombly, Kyle Trowbridge & Susan Lee Chun with three from Cape Town – Pieter Hugo, Cameron Platter & Bridget Baker – and addresses issues pertaining to life in a transitory city.
The artists participating in “Tour” address notions of alienation, integration, acceptance, dual identity and how to find a sense of “home”.
“Tour” will be part of the ViennaBiennale – through 10th October 2006.
