Three academic leadership positions in Art History and Theory, Painting and Photography

The School is seeking to appoint a distinguished academic at the Professor E level for the leadership role of Director, Centre for Art History and Art Theory. The Director will be an eminent scholar with recognised expertise in Art History and Curatorship and is expected to promote excellence in research, teaching, and professional activities. The role provides innovative direction for research in the Centre and School, actively pursues connections to the studio disciplines and strategic engagement across the University, nationally and with international research partners, building on the Centre and School’s reputation.

The School is seeking to appoint an academic for the role of Lecturer to contribute to the dynamic and exemplary visual arts programs in the field of Painting which is an outstanding discipline within the School. The candidate will have relevant experience in studio-based teaching and the technical, conceptual and historical underpinnings of contemporary Painting. The appointment will be at the Senior Lecturer (C) level or Lecturer (B) level, depending on the attributes and experience of the successful applicant.

The School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer to contribute to an ambitious, future-focused visual arts programs in the field of Photomedia. This area of the visual arts program teaches and researches in a broad range of related skills and disciplines focused on both the traditional and emergent practices of photography and lens based practices. The appointment will be at the Senior Lecturer (C) level or Lecturer (B) level, depending on the attributes and experience of the successful applicant.

The successful candidates in Painting and Photography will have a personal research profile based on an active creative research practice through exhibitions, and other activities relating to and furthering each of these fields. Each position will contribute to the research activity and profile of the School.  Provide leadership, high quality and innovative teaching within the undergraduate, postgraduate and higher degree research programs. The appointment will be at Senior Lecturer (C) level or Lecturer (B) level, depending on the attributes and experience of the successful applicant.
