Sir William Dobell Professor of Art History and Curatorship
The School is seeking to fill its position of the Sir William Dobell Professor of Art History and Curatorship who will have a leadership role as Director of the Centre for Art History and Art Theory (CAHAT) working actively with disciplines within SOA&D. This position is aligned with the Sir William Dobell Chair, funded by the Sir William Dobell Art Foundation and in memory of the Archibald prize-winning Australian artist Sir William Dobell this prestigious Chair has been supported for over 30 years. The Chair supports outstanding Art History and Curatorial scholarship. The successful candidate will provide an annual report to the Sir William Dobell Art Foundation and oversee the annual Sir William Dobell Lecture held at SOA&D.

The successful candidate will be an experienced scholar with expertise in Art History and Curatorship, leading the development of research and teaching in the Centre. The position will facilitate links and partnerships across the University, national and internationally, building on the School and Centre’s reputation.

Lecturer in Contemporary Art, Sculpture
The School is seeking to appoint new academic staff to contribute to the School’s aims through its Visual Arts and Design programs. The Visual Arts program prepares students to become professional practicing artists, which is achieved through studio-based education, practice-led research, and professional training in combination with Art History and Theory, Curatorship and Design. It is inclusive of material and digital practices and promotes transdisciplinary education to foster experimental visual arts practice and research.

The School is seeking a Lecturer to build the Visual Arts program’s capacity in contemporary art practice, including but not limited to sculpture and expanded spatial practices, and/or performance, video installation, and/or socially engaged art practices. The successful candidate will be an experimental contemporary art practitioner with an international profile, working at the forefront of contemporary art practice and discourse. The position represents a unique opportunity to contribute to an ambitious, future-focused program within a vibrant, internationally ranked university.
