The University of Washington School of Art + Art History + Design is proud to announce the 2019 MFA + MDes Thesis Exhibition in partnership with the Henry Art Gallery. Throughout their programs, art and design graduate students consult with academic advisers, industry professionals, and working artists to develop advanced techniques, expand creative ideas, and discuss critical issues. Students emerge with a vision and direction for their own work, which are embodied in the concepts and pieces they have chosen to present.

This exhibition features the work of:

Master of Fine Arts (MFA)
Granite Calimpong, Lucy Copper, Abigail Drapkin, Jackie Granger, Baorong Liang, Sean Lockwood, Brighton McCormick, Charles Stobbs III, emily charlotte taibleson, Connor Walden

Master of Design (MDes)
Kelsey Aschenbeck, Heidi Biggs, Derek Burkhardsmeier, Coreen Callister, Phillip Carpenter, Matt Imus, Magdalena Nilges, Jooyeon Oh, Clare Ortblad, Angela Piccolo, Franklin Vandiver

The 2019 Graduate Thesis + Dissertation Showcase website, which documents the work of graduating students in all three of our divisions, will be released in late June. In the meantime, view our 2018 Showcase website.
