The Board of the Fondation Prince Pierre de Monaco and Artistic Committee of the 47th PIAC - Prix International d’Art Contemporain (International Contemporary Art Prize) wish to congratulate this year’s shortlisted artists:

Yto Barrada for Double Skin, her first solo exhibition in Latin America, at Casa Luis Baraggán (June 22-September 8, 2019); and forthcoming exhibitions at Mathaf Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha and at the Museum of Modern Art, as part of the Artist’s Choice series, in New York (2020).

Arthur Jafa for receiving the Golden Lion as the Best Participant in the 58th Venice Biennale curated by Ralph Rugoff and entitled May You Live in Interesting Times, and the exhibition opening on June 29, 2019 at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm entitled A Series of Utterly Improbable and Yet Extraordinary Renditions (Featuring Ming Smith, Frida Orupabo, and Missylanyus).

Rayyane Tabet for the forthcoming solo show Encounters at Parasol Unit in London (September 28-December 14, 2019) and participation in the exhibition Alien Property at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (October 30, 2019-January 18, 2021).

We also want to congratulate our Nominators and the 2019 Jury (Kader Attia, Ilaria Bonacossa, Reem Fadda, Candice Hopkins, Isaac Julien) for selecting such a talented group of artists for our PIAC. We look forward to welcoming them in Monaco on 15 October 2019 when the name of our Awardee will be announced”, stated Lorenzo Fusi, the PIAC Artistic Director, on behalf of the President, Vice-President and entire team of the Fondation Prince Pierre de Monaco.
