Applications open for Technical Director

The MUSEUM MMK FÜR MODERNE KUNST is seeking a technical director of exhibition production to join its team.

The technical director we are looking for has an understanding and knowledge of exhibition production, as well as experience in working on new artwork commissions. The technical director will be responsible for the organization and technical preparation, planning and supervision of the installation and dismantling of exhibitions as well as events at the MMK’s three exhibition venues. Her/his duties will moreover include the award of contracts to the various trades and budget control. The coordination and monitoring of building maintenance and technical maintenance measures at the three venues will be a further part of her/his responsibilities.

Within the team, the technical director will have the personnel responsibility for all technical departments of the museum, including restoration, technical workshops, building services, storage administration, building security and the free-lance art handling team. This means that the technical director has the ability to lead and motivate employees as well as social competence and a sense of responsibility.

We are looking for a technical director who combines technical knowledge and organizational and social skills with a keen interest in contemporary art.
