About Amsterdam Art Weekend 2015
Amsterdam Art Weekend is an extensive program of over 90 exhibitions, performances, screenings andconversations, in which more than 50 of Amsterdam’s cutting edge venues showcase the newest developments in contemporary art. Visitors will be the first to witness tomorrow’s artistic talent unfold.
The weekend’s carefully curated program brings together the city’s diverse network of galleries, project spaces, art institutions and residency programs. To offer something for every taste, programs are tailor-made to suit different audiences. Alongside the public program, an extensive Professionals program gives national and international art professionals numerous chances to make new discoveries, and extend their network.
Participants include 50 galleries and project spaces, as well as de Appel arts centre, De Ateliers, EYE, Foam, International Documentary Film Festival (IDFA), Manifesta, Oude Kerk, de Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam (SMBA).
