The Pompidou Centre for Art and Culture is an international, multi-disciplinary cultural institution devoted to modern and contemporary art in all its forms that welcomes more than 3.5 million visitors each year and employs over a thousand people. The institution, which comes under the French Ministry of Culture and Communication and is situated in the centre of Paris, is currently seeking a Deputy Director, Department of Cultural Development.
Within the Pompidou Centre, the Department of Cultural Development exhibits emerging artistic forms and practices. It reflects on transformations in contemporary visual culture through exhibitions, programs and events that navigate between art, performance, cinema, dance, video art and contemporary ideas. Regular features include Hors Pistes, Vidéodanse and the Nouveau festival.
Together with the Director, the Deputy Director is responsible for coordinating the delivery of the Department of Cultural Development’s exhibitions and programs. The successful candidate would have proven administrative and project management experience, as well as strong human qualities and organisational abilities. Also vital to the position is an extensive network of professional contacts.
The Pompidou Centre is seeking a high-level professional in the contemporary art field, familiar with the processes of producing exhibitions, programs and diverse cultural manifestations, who is fluent in French and English (both written and spoken).
