Art Basel, whose lead partner is UBS, returns this week for its 13th edition to Miami Beach with 267 leading international galleries drawn from 31 countries across North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. 2014 marks the debut of Survey, a new sector dedicated to precise art-historical projects. In addition to showing premier artworks ranging from Modern masters to the latest contemporary pieces across the diverse gallery sectors within the Miami Beach Convention Center, many galleries will present works outside of the halls as part of Art Basel’s Public and Film sectors. Further highlights include Art Basel’s talks series and the staging of Ryan McNamara’s MEƎM 4 Miami: A Story Ballet About the Internet at the Miami Grand Theater.

Film
Film will comprise over 80 films and video works by artists including Charles Atlas, Martin Creed, Susan Hiller, Parker Ito, Mark Leckey, Babette Mangolte, Takeshi Murata, Laure Prouvost, Alex Prager, Mark Wallinger, and Harun Farocki, selected by David Gryn of London’s Artprojx.
