Objectif Exhibitions is a not-for-profit art centre dedicated to contemporary visual art in Antwerp. Founded in 1999, the organisation’s public mandate is to offer a climate of support for the creation of and interaction with diverse artistic practices by producing new solo exhibitions of international and local artists. Alongside its core activity, Objectif Exhibitions hosts lectures, performances, screenings and occasional residencies, as well as producing occasional publications. Through its dynamic and varied programme, Objectif aims to maintain a growing community of concerned and engaged people committed to supporting the organisation. The activities mainly take place within its ground floor and basement exhibition spaces, each of approximately 160 square meters in the centre of the city.
The position of Director is concentrated in three main areas: artistic programming, administration, and communication. The Director is responsible for the budget, and reports to the board.
The position starts on 1 May 2015.

–Plan and oversee the budget, expenditure, and general fundraising.
–Oversee and produce all communications ranging from press releases, invitations, the website, and all printed or online publications.
–Build relations with the art communities in Belgium including artists, galleries, art academies, collectors and funders to seek and enhance support for Objectif’s programmes.
–Host workshops, master classes, and curatorial tours with local and international art academies.
Requirements
–Extensive experience curating exhibitions, including artistic production, loans, shipping, and a pragmatic familiarity with installing exhibitions.
–Excellent written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills.
–Deep knowledge of international developments in contemporary art and a broad
professional network.
–Demonstrated ability to work closely and productively with artists within budgetary
and time constraints is a must.
–Experience managing budgets and overseeing administration and fundraising for contemporary art programmes.
–At least five years of professional experience in the field of contemporary visual
arts.
Objectif Exhibitions is open to international applicants. To apply, please send an updated Curriculum Vitae and letter describing your interest in the position to apply [at] objectif-exhibitions.org no later than 30 November 2014. After the first deadline, short-listed candidates (only) will be invited to submit a brief programme proposal to be assessed by a committee consisting of members of the board and several external advisors, followed by interviews of pre-selected candidates in late January.
The new Director will be announced in February 2015.
