Object as Catalyst

Object as Catalyst asks how sculpture, ceramics, and other object-based practices might shift from what they physically represent to the effects and experiences they produce. This residency led by British artist, researcher, and curator Clare Twomey is open to visual artists, particularly those working in ceramics and sculpture, as well as curators and academics.

Delve deeply into your practice while away from the constraints of everyday life. You will be provided with a studio, accessible 24 hours a day, as well as access to our extensive facilities.

Plastic

Reimagine your relations with the fundamental material of plastic in this thematic residency, with faculty Heather Davis and Kelly Jazvac. Explore processes of recycling and reconstituting, materiality, and what it means to use plastic as an artistic material.

Banff International Curatorial Institute Fellowship

Focus deeply on the continued development of your work in this self-directed research fellowship for established curators and arts writers. You’ll have the opportunity to engage with other participants and programs in the creative and intellectually stimulating environment of Visual Arts.

Banff Visual Artist Fellowship

Enjoy an extended period of time to develop work, and pursue critical research and studio-based projects. Scheduled programming is light to allow for self-directed project development, and opportunities to connect and collaborate.
