Founded in 1916, the Kestner Gesellschaft is one of the oldest and largest art associations in Germany. Located in Hanover, it has always actively promoted contemporary national and international art. Besides the exhibitions of art, the Kestner Gesellschaft offers a variety of platforms of discourse: discussions with artists, lectures, public tours, guided tours for members, art trips for members, and programs for children, students and young employees.
The Board of the Kestner Gesellschaft is currently seeking a new director. The director’s primary focus will be on curatorial concepts and realization of exhibitions, but he or she will also be responsible for audience development, communication of the exhibition programs, member’s and sponsor’s services, production of publications, fundraising and communication with the press.
The director should have excellent communication and organizational skills, experience in fundraising, membership services, publishing and leading cultural and political dialogues related to the arts.
German language skills would be favorable.
