Seeking Director
Application deadline: 20 June 2014
Kunstverein München is nationally and internationally regarded as an important institution for the presentation of innovative contemporary art practice, critical curatorial concepts and discourse. In the recent past the Kunstverein’s program has been led by previous directors including Zdenek Felix, Helmut Draxler, Dirk Snauwaert, Maria Lind, and Stefan Kalmár, who have challenged curatorial and contemporary art conventions through exhibition-making and programming. Originally founded in 1823, Kunstverein München is one of Germany’s oldest art associations. It is supported by Munich’s local arts council and its role as a key contemporary art institution in the city ranks it alongside major institutions such as the Pinakothek der Moderne, Haus der Kunst, and Lenbachhaus.
A suitable candidate for this position should be able to effectively communicate her or his program and represent Kunstverein München on a local, national and international level. Applicants are required to hold relevant academic education, an independent curatorial approach and first-hand experience in all fields of exhibition making including team leadership, communication, education, managing finances, fundraising, marketing, and public relations.
Applications should include a detailed CV and short outline of a proposed program. Please send digitally by 20 June 2014 to the following email address: directorspost [at] kunstverein-muenchen.de.
Your application will be treated confidentially. More information about Kunstverein München can be found on our website.

Interviews will take place on 26 July 2014.
