Artspace New Zealand is seeking a new Director. The role presents a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution to the intellectual development and creative vision of an organisation that has been operating at the forefront of contemporary art in New Zealand for 27 years.
Artspace supports the commissioning, production and presentation of new and exciting contemporary art and engages with local and international artists and audiences. Its core mission is to offer a platform to risk-taking practices as well as to provide artists with a critical and non-commercial environment to work in.
Artspace’s programme comprises approximately seven exhibitions a year, as well as public programmes, including performances, screenings and lectures.
The Director will formulate the vision for Artspace and ensure its successful implementation in consultation with the Trustees and with the support of a small team of staff and volunteers.
The Director will have overall responsibility for all aspects of the organisation’s work, including artistic, curatorial, financial, operational and fundraising activities.
