The AA Summer Sessions form an intense and experimental laboratory that focuses on pressing contemporary issues and attempts to work both outside of and against established pedagogical formats. Renowned practitioners, theoreticians, historians, curators and designers will work with participants to workshop a series of briefs as part of an intensive, extracurricular think-tank; a unique intellectual and creative experience in relation to architecture, the arts, the media and other cultural arenas. Through bringing together a diverse spectrum of individuals, the course creates an immersive environment that generates an international network of creative friendships.
The AA Summer Sessions are open to current and prospective students that are either coming to the end of their basic studies or working towards a master’s degree, as well as recent graduates. A number of fully-funded scholarships are available. Prospective participants who wish to apply for a scholarship must register their interest by sending through a 10-page portfolio PDF format (max. 5MB), a statement of intent and mention specific reasons related to their financial need.
The deadline for applications and for full payment is June 30, 2020*
*Please note that applications will close whenever the course is full. This may be before the stated deadline.
